Passport holders from all countries, excluding South East Asian countries (Philippines, Cambodia, Vietnam, etc), are required to obtain a visa to enter Indonesia. This can be obtained upon arrival in Indonesia and currently costs 500,000 IDR (~$35 USD). No pre-application is needed and it can be paid for using EUR, USD, SGD, among some other currencies or credit card (excluding AMEX).

Most tourists hire a driver and/or rent a motor bike. Both options are affordable. Also, your hotel/Airbnb will likely be able to arrange a private driver for you as needed.

August is dry season in Bali, which means minimal rain should be expected. Estimated high/low temperatures are 26°C/22°C (79°F/ 71°F), with plenty of humidity.

Although Bali is a beach holiday destination, please refrain from galavanting around the island in swim wear-only. The locals consider it respectful to be regularly clothed when not doing beach/pool activities.

Please note that both the ceremony and reception will be held outdoors in a garden. For those wearing heels, we recommend considering comfort while navigating the grass—blocked heels are a great option for extra stability.

As standard practice with visiting any developing country, do not drink tap water and always drink bottled water that has been properly sealed. When ordering drinks, request the drink without ice. Taking probiotics before and during your trip can help reduce risk of getting Bali belly. And lastly, if you’re uncertain about any drink or food, it is best to not consume it.

Look into getting an E-sim before arriving. If not, you can easily get a local sim card at the airport (if so, please check that your phone is unlocked from your carrier).

We recommend using Whatsapp messenger as a main form of communication. If you choose to not have your phone carrier service active while in bali, Whatsapp texts and calls will work when you’re connected to wifi.

Most places accept credit cards, however, smaller establishments will accept cash only. You may exchange USD at the airport or locally in the city. In addition, please bring USD cash for visa on arrival (check current visa requirements and bring the exact change for this to avoid complications during the exchange of money with the visa agent.)

Due to the high prices of insect repellent (preferred brand: Off Spray) and sunscreen in Bali, definitely buy these items ahead of time.
